Plugins for Total Commander. Plugins for Total Commander Total commander image viewing

- This is perhaps one of the most successful programs that was written for Windows. Almost without changing its appearance, it evolves along with the operating room Windows system, remaining the number one system utility for many. In many ways, this is a great merit of those programmers who were able to see how promising the principle of a two-panel interface could be file manager. Over more than ten years of development, the Ghisler product not only managed to change its name from Windows Commander to Total Commander, but also acquired a wide variety of functions: bookmarks appeared, support for rar archives was added, the manager began to work with Unicode and became more convenient in many ways. But, as you know, there is no limit to perfection, and, keeping this truth in mind, the developers have transferred the “refinement” of the program to the shoulders of the users themselves. With the help of additional modules or, simply put, plugins, Total Commander can be turned into a multifunctional Swiss army knife, which has tools for all occasions. Moreover, some plugins not only expand the potential of the program, but may even serve as a reason to abandon some programs that you previously had to use. There is no point in considering absolutely all additional modules for the file manager. Firstly, there are a lot of them. Secondly, many of them have, if not exactly the same purpose, then at least very close ones. Therefore, we will only talk about the most interesting, in our opinion, plugins. If you are interested in this topic, you can find hundreds of other add-ons on the program's website, on the unofficial website Totalcmd.net, as well as on the Russian-language site "All about Total Commander". Before we begin listing the plugins, it would be a good idea to mention the process of installing them. All additional modules for Total Commander are divided into several groups:

  • Archiving plugins are additional modules that expand the program’s capabilities for working with archives. Such plugins have a WCX extension;
  • Plugins file system– These add-ons to Total Commander allow you to access disks or other digital media with a file system that is not supported by Windows. These plugins appear as files with a WFX extension;
  • Internal viewer plugins - designed to expand the list of formats supported by the Lister internal viewer, called by the F3 or Ctrl+Q command. These files have the extension WLX;
  • Information plugins – make it possible to view information embedded in a file. They have the WDX extension.
Installation of plugins in Total Commander has recently been done automatically. It is enough to download the archive with the addition to the file manager and view its contents, and a window will appear on the screen in which the program will offer to install the detected plugin.

If for some reason you need to connect an additional module manually, you need to open the program settings window (Configuration>Options) and go to the Plugins section. Next, using the button for the corresponding type of plug-ins, you should indicate the location of the module you want to install on your hard drive.

This plugin will be useful for those who are used to “keeping their finger on the pulse” of the system. With its help, you can monitor the memory status, processor load, manage running processes, and assign each of them its own priority. In a separate window, graphical dependencies are drawn in real time, which display system operation statistics. IN operating systems ah XP and Vista you can get information about open ports and installed on this moment connections. The number of functions that AceHelper offers is not available in every process manager. For example, AceHelper displays information about files used by the process, registry keys, drivers, etc. If necessary, you can unload the process from RAM. After installation, the plugin appears as an icon in the network environment. By default, Total Commander can view a very limited number of

graphic formats . Of course, an additional multifunctional utility such as ACDSee is usually used for this purpose. However, the built-in viewer's support for various graphic formats allows in some cases to do without additional programs. By installing the Imagine module, you can view graphic files in the following formats in Total Commander: JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, PCX, TGA, PSD, TIF, TIFF, LBM, IFF, FLI, FLC, SPR, PCD, JPC, JP2, J2K ( JPEG 2000), PBM, PGM, PPM, RAS, SGI, RGB, BW, JBG, JBIG, ICO, CUR, ANI, CLP, RLE.– resolution, color depth, number of frames (for example, for animated GIFs), EXIF data (for JPEG files). Animated GIF files can be exported to AVI video file. Some image parameters can be edited, for example, changing the color depth, rotating, resizing the picture. This module is very convenient to use for quick viewing and subsequent renaming of images.

In order to listen to music on your computer, of course, it is convenient to use a special player. However, when you need to quickly view multiple media files, launching a heavy utility every time is very inconvenient. Using this module, you can listen and watch audio/video files of most popular formats today (asf, wmv, avi, mpeg, aiff, ogg and many others) directly on the Total Commander panel. In addition to the fact that the file will be played, the window will display information contained in the ID3Tag V1 and ID3Tag V2 tags (codec type, bitrate, album information, etc.). The plugin is launched as a viewer using F3 or Ctrl+Q. Another type of program whose functions can be performed by a plugin for Total Commander is a disk emulator. Of course, such a plugin cannot replace Alcohol120% or DaemonTools, because VirtualDisk has a minimum of settings and cannot emulate protected disks. However, this module has one advantage - it is easy to install and remove without causing any disruption to Windows. Its installation is a little different from normal plugin installation. In addition to automatic installation when viewing the contents of an archive with the VirtualDisk module, you should separately install the virtual disk driver. To do this you need to click

right click

mouse over the file, call up the context menu and select Install. After this, you will need to restart your computer, and VirtualDisk is ready to use. After installing the plugin, a folder with the same name appears in the network environment. You should copy image files to this folder before connecting. To connect one of the images in the list, just try to go into it, as into a regular directory. A window with settings will appear where you can specify the letter that will be assigned to the connected image and emulation mode. The program can emulate a disk in one of three modes. In HDD mode, images from a file file are emulated FAT system or NTFS. In FDD mode, a disk drive is emulated; NTFS images cannot be connected. The last mode of CD/DVD emulation is emulation of a drive for reading CD/DVD discs. IN additional option- only for reading. If enabled, mounted images cannot be modified while accessing the virtual disk.

This module will turn the file manager into an email client that works with POP3/SMTP protocols. After configuring MAIL_WFX, the mailbox is displayed as a regular folder, accessed through the Network Neighborhood and the Mail icon.

If you go to such a folder, you can see the headers of the letters in the mailbox. It is the headers, and not the letters themselves, that are done so that traffic is not wasted on spam. The list of titles is updated only after entering the mailbox. All letters that MAIL_WFX works with are presented in eml format. If the system already has the Outlook email client installed, The Bat! or another, the letter will open in the program with which it is associated this type file. By default, Total Commander automatically sets a set of columns for sorting letters, but in the settings you can set many more different columns - the message read flag, message priority, sender organization, and others. MAIL_WFX has some limitations, for example, it does not work with proxies, and the viewer does not process the encoding of letters, which is why some letters may not be displayed correctly. This add-on is in beta and therefore does not always work as expected. However, the author is actively working on MAIL_WFX, planning to provide the mailer with a lot of additional functions in the future. With each new version Total Commander is adding new features to the program that relate to archive support

If you think you know everything that Total Commander that you use every day can do, you are mistaken. The number of additions to this program is huge and growing day by day. And who knows, maybe after many, many versions, instead of a regular file manager, a whole operating system will be released, which will include all the additional modules for the program.

Working with pictures is important. I often look through pictures in this program. Of course, staring games work faster. They have one drawback: they load the RAM. It's good if you have 2 or 4 GB RAM. Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+q you will see how the display of files in the window has changed. If there is a picture in the window, you will see it.

If you press the sequence TAB, + (or -), you can zoom in or out on pictures. You will not be able to fully view pictures in the CMIK system. Only files in the RGB system will be viewed fully.

Right-click on the picture window. You will see a menu. Select an item File-Save How. You can save the file in a different format.

You can use the so-called viewer. It's easy to turn on. This is the way File-Tools-Sketches

Now you have the Imagine viewer in front of you. It's easy to view pictures. Very convenient for viewing pictures.

If you go to properties, you can select the size of the picture thumbnail.

If the miniatures seem large to you, then you can reduce the size by 50x50.

In the list of file managers, Total Commander (hereinafter TC) is the most popular. And this is not surprising, because the program provides very convenient work with disks, folders and files and, in addition to providing standard features typical for this class of applications, has many interesting features that simplify work. In particular, it remembers frequently used directories, supports working with bookmarks, and provides quick search(including inside files), allows you to configure hotkeys, etc. In addition, the program provides support for popular archivers and has a built-in FTP client that allows you to download files in multiple streams, supports resuming and can work according to a schedule. And its capabilities can be expanded through plug-ins. This article will be devoted to getting to know the most interesting of them, but first we will briefly discuss the types of plugins and the nuances of their installation.

What are the plugins and how to install them

There are four types of TC plugins: archiver plugins (have the WCX extension), file system plugins (WFX), internal viewer plugins (WLX) and content plugins (WDX). Archiving plugins are used to work with archives that are not initially supported in the file manager or are supported with restrictions. In addition, with the help of archiving plugins, support for working with a number of other file formats is implemented - CHM, MSI, ICL, DLL, etc. File system plugins are available in TC via network(Fig. 1) and provide access to disks, remote systems, internal Windows modules, media with other file systems. Internal viewer plugins allow you to view file formats not supported by Lister's internal viewer - images, tables, databases, etc. Content plugins are designed to provide access to extended information about files - MP3 tags, information in EXIF headers in JPEG images, etc.

Rice. 1. TC window with Network Neighborhood open in the left panel

Today, there are already hundreds of plugins for TC, and it is impossible to even simply list them within the framework of the article, and it does not make much sense, since many plugins, if they do not duplicate each other, then have very similar purposes. We will focus only on those solutions that may be of interest to a wide range of users.

The most popular and well-proven plugins, along with their brief descriptions, are presented on the official website of the program (http://www.ghisler.com/addons.htm), as well as on the Russian-language website “All about Total Commander” (http://wincmd .ru/). New plugins are available from the unofficial TC website (http://www.totalcmd.net/).

You can install plugins automatically or manually. Automatic installation does not cause any difficulties: just open the downloaded archive with the plugin in the file manager and the program itself will offer to install the detected module (Fig. 2). True, so automatic installation Not available for all plugins.

Rice. 2. TC window prompting you to install the plugin

Connecting additional modules manually is done in the settings window called up by the command Configuration -> Settings, where in the section Plugins You should click on the button with the desired plugin type and specify the location of the module to be installed. For archiving plugins additionally in the list Files with the extension you will need to specify the extension of those files that should be associated with the plugin being installed (Fig. 3). If there are several similar extensions, then the operation of specifying a module with a plugin is performed several times, each time entering a different extension.

Rice. 3. Installing the archiver plugin through the Settings window

Comfortable viewing

The file manager's built-in viewer (Lister) allows you to view a fairly limited list of file formats by pressing the F3 key. The situation can be easily corrected by installing the appropriate plugins.

After connecting the plugin IEView(http://wincmd.ru/plugring/ieview.html) it will be possible to view files in a variety of formats. This plugin uses the same engine for viewing files as Internet Explorer, and is great for viewing hypertext documents (including documents in MHT and CHM formats). In addition, it allows you to view documents of other formats through software installed on your computer - PDF documents (if Acrobat Reader is installed - Fig. 4), Word/Excel documents, PowerPoint presentations(if you have the MS Office package), etc. You can also configure viewing files in DjVu format by installing the Browser Plugin and uncommenting in the section file ieview.ini the corresponding line. Viewing AutoCAD documents is configured in the same way (an appropriate viewer is required - for example, VoloView), etc.

Rice. 4. View PDF Document Using IEView

The IEView plugin can also be used to view Shockwave Flash files. However, it is more convenient to use specialized plugins for this purpose - for example SWF Lister 2.0(http://wincmd.ru/plugring/swf_lister.html; Fig. 5), since there is a playback scroll bar.

Rice. 5. View a SWF file using SWF Lister

Using this plugin in the file manager, it will be possible to create and unpack archives in 7z format, as well as view their contents. To use the plugin, for example, to package files, you need to select them, press the key combination Alt+F5, in the window that opens, select the 7z option in the list of archiver extensions and, if necessary, adjust the archiving settings by clicking on the button Settings(Fig. 9).

Rice. 9. Creating a 7z archive using 7Zip Plugin

Working with CD/DVDs and images

If you want to make working with CD/DVD discs more comfortable and reliable, then you should get a virtual compact drive by installing a plugin Virtual Disk(http://wincmd.ru/plugring/virtdisk.html). It will be possible to mount images of CD/DVD discs into such a drive much faster than inserting them into a real drive, and without any harm to the discs themselves, which often become unreadable due to active use. This plugin allows you to emulate a virtual compact drive and connect images to it (in ISO format, as well as some BIN and NRG images) made from unprotected CDs. In addition, it can be used to emulate local hard drive or floppy disk.

For the plugin to work, in addition to installing it in automatic mode, you need to install the virtual disk driver by calling the command in Windows Explorer from the context menu on the file Program Files\totalcmd\plugins\wfx\VirtualDisk\VD_Driver\vd_filedisk.inf Install. And then restart your computer.

The principle of mounting images into the virtual drive created after installing the module is very simple: copy it to the folder in the file manager VirtualDisk (this folder will appear in Network environment after installing the plugin) the necessary image files, and then to mount one of them on the virtual drive, double-click on this image, select mode CD/DVD and click on the button To plug(Fig. 10). You can also enable the checkbox Restore on reboot, which makes sense if you have to work with the mounted image regularly. After that, in the disk rollout in TC and in the window Windows Explorer the desired virtual drive with the connected image will appear.

Rice. 10. Mounting the image into the VirtualDisk virtual drive

There is another option - install a plugin ISO(http://wincmd.ru/plugring/iso.html). With its help, you can read images in ISO, BIN, IMG and NRG formats without mounting them into a virtual drive. This will allow, for example, to quickly view files from the image (Fig. 11) and copy all or part of them to HDD for further work.

Rice. 11. View image contents via ISO plugin

Data Cataloging

It’s not easy to navigate among the folders and files stored on a variety of disks, because most users have dozens, or even hundreds, of CDs alone, and even more pictures, documents, audio recordings. Therefore, today you cannot do without using some kind of cataloguer that would provide the ability to quickly find out where the desired disk or file is located. If there is relatively little data to be cataloged, then it is quite possible to make do with the capabilities of specialized TC plugins.

Total Commander is essentially an analogue of Windows Explorer, but it is much more efficient and easier to manage. For many users, this file manager has long become a vital tool with which to start working on a PC. The popularity of Total Commander is also largely determined by its weak level of payment protection. This file manager is distributed under a Shareware license, that is, it is free to use for a month. But in fact, even after the free month of use, Total Commander is not blocked.

Just press one of the three numbers (1, 2 or 3) and after counting down the seconds, the manager will start. There will be no restrictions on the functionality of the program.
You can download the current version of Total Commander on the official website page. At the time of writing, the infinite trial version of Total Commander 8.51a is current, both 32-bit and 64-bit.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that during the installation of Total Commander you can select the folder where the configuration files are located, for which you need to click on the “Set path to INI files” button. Now you can easily transfer your Total Commander settings to another computer simply by copying the INI files.

I chose the program directory to store INI files (convenient when the program is used from different operating systems). If you use several versions of Total Commander on your computer, then it is better to store the INI files in the Windows directory.

The Total Commander user interface is designed in a classic two-panel form, which is very convenient when performing a variety of manipulations with files and folders.

Setting up Total Commander

Let's go through the settings of Total Commander; to do this, select "Configuration" - "Settings" from the top menu. Window view - here are some of the most important settings that determine the appearance of the file manager window.

In order to add or remove certain components of the main window, just uncheck or check the checkbox; after clicking the "Apply" button, you can see the changes made with your own eyes. If you are satisfied with everything, click “OK”.
On the tab "Panel Contents" provides the opportunity to configure work with files and folders on the manager panels.

Settings items: Icons, Fonts, and Colors arrange to your liking.
In the tab "Tabulators" we configure tab stop positions (size, file type, date), and also set a template for displaying file sizes. For me personally, it is more convenient when the size of files (folders) is shown not in bytes, but in Mb, Gb or Kb.

Agree that it is not very convenient to often open a folder that is located somewhere deep in the directory.
You can pin frequently used tabs to the file panel as follows. Open the desired folder and right-click on it. From the context menu, select the option or "Rename/Lock tab" . You can also use hotkeys: Ctrl+T - create a tab, Ctrl+W - delete a tab.

If there are a lot of blocked tabs, then they can be evenly distributed across both manager panels simply by dragging them with the mouse. Don't forget to save changes from the top menu "Configuration" - "Save position" and "Save settings" . Now you have the necessary tabs, which will not disappear until you change the settings. While working with the program for a long time, it may happen that you have many tabs open. In order to close them on any of the tabs, right-click and select the item from the menu "Close all tabs" or click on the hotkey combination "Ctrl+Shift+W". After this, all unlocked and inactive tabs on the file manager panel you selected will close.
The next important setting item "Basic Operations" .

Connecting the Notepad++ editor to Total Commander by default

The best text file editor, in my opinion, is Notepad++. How can I make it the default editor in Total Commander? On the next settings tab "Edit/View" you can connect external programs to view and edit files in Total Commander by pressing the F3 (view) or F4 (edit) button.
Choose Editor program- a path selection window will open where you need to find Notepad++ on your computer.

Setting up hot keys in

It is worth noting that Total Commander by default has a huge number keyboard shortcuts for work. The list of hot keys can be viewed by clicking on the "Help" button in the right top corner Total Commander. It is noteworthy that in the settings item "Miscellaneous" You can redefine hotkeys in the manager at your discretion. Let's set, for example, showing and hiding system files keyboard shortcut Ctrl+H - cm_SwitchHidSys.

So, I recommend assigning the following hotkey combinations:
"Ctrl+W" - cm_CopyNamesToClip- copy file names to the clipboard. You can copy one or several file names at once.
"Alt+W" - cm_CopyFullNamesToClip- copy file names with their location paths to the clipboard. Significantly saves time!
"Shift+Home" - cm_OpenDesktop- open the "Desktop" tab in the Total Commander window. It is often convenient to start work from the desktop, and from here you can go to the Control Panel, etc.
"Shift+BackSpace" - cm_GoToRoot- go to the root directory of the disk from anywhere. Also a very useful thing. Clicking "Ctrl+\" you also, by default, go to the root directory of the disk. Well, just a key "BackSpace" by default in Total it moves one level higher.

On the official website of the Total Commander developer you can find and download a great variety of plugins: http://www.ghisler.com/plugins.htm. If you don’t want to bother translating their descriptions into Russian, then visit the Russian-language website http://wincmd.ru. New plugins are also available from the unofficial TC website (http://www.totalcmd.net/).
If you open the tab "Plugins" in the Total Commander settings, you will see that the plugins themselves are divided into four types: Archive plugins (have the WCX extension), File system plugins (WFX), Internal viewer plugins (WLX) and Information plugins (WDX).

Archiving plugins allow you to work with archives that are not initially supported in the file manager or are supported with restrictions. Using archiving plugins, support is provided for working with a number of other file formats - CHM, MSI, ICL, DLL, etc. File system plugins allow you to access disks that are inaccessible from Windows, remote systems, internal Windows modules, and media with other file systems. Internal viewer plugins allow you to view files of various formats, incl. not supported by Lister's internal viewer, such as images, tables, databases, etc. Information plugins are designed to provide access to extended information about files (MP3 tags, image attributes, etc.)
There are two ways to install plugins: automatically and manually. Automatic installation does not cause any difficulties: just open the downloaded archive with the plugin in the Total Commander panel and the manager itself will offer to install the detected module. However, automatic installation is not provided for all plugins.

Connecting additional plugins manually is also not difficult. To install the plugin, unpack the contents of the archive into a separate folder. It is best to create a subdirectory in the directory with the Total Commander manager "Plugins" , where you can create separate folders for each plugin separately. In the future, this policy will allow you to avoid confusion in the Total Commander folders.
Now you need to open the Total Commander settings Configuration - Settings , where in the section Plugins you should click on the button "Settings" with the required plugin type. In the drop-down window, click "Add" and select a file with the extension .wfx (wdx, wcx or wlx) - the actual file of the plugin to be installed from the folder we created. All! The plugin is installed.

To see which plugins of each type are installed in your Total Commander build, click the button "Tune" in the relevant area. I emphasized the archiver plugins in my manager build.

Thanks to installed plugins you can view any folders and files on the adjacent Total Commander panel using a hotkey combination "Ctrl+Q". If you navigate through files in one panel, their contents will be displayed in the adjacent viewing panel.

There are many software to manage Windows OS parameters, these include plugins built into the system, various tweakers, and system utilities. There are many plugins developed for Total Commander that solve the same problem. Using TS file system plugins makes it possible to keep abreast of your computer's OS from the familiar and very convenient interface of the TS file manager and perform many operations much faster than through the built-in Windows tools.

File system plugins are available in Total Commander via network

Very easy to use Uninstaller 64 plugin , which is designed to quickly uninstall applications that are in the list "Installation and removal of programms" panels Windows management. The plugin allows you to view all entries, including hidden ones, and works much faster than the built-in Windows uninstaller. To uninstall an application using this plugin, you need to highlight the line with the program name and press the Enter key. The plugin is also used to remove broken links (Del or F8 buttons) and view the uninstallation command (F3 or Ctrl+Q).

Thanks to the plugin ProcFS Task Manager You can view running processes on your PC, including those that may be hiding from the standard Windows Task Manager. The panel shows the name of the process, its type, the amount of memory occupied by the process, and the time it started. The plugin allows you to view the properties of running processes and the libraries they use (F3), change the priorities of processes (double-click on the process) and unload them (Del).

Services2 plugin is a convenient tool for working with Windows services. This plugin allows you to view a list of services, and by appearance icons you can immediately understand whether the service is running or stopped. The plugin allows you to quickly change the launch mode of a specific service (manual, automatic, disabled), you can pause the service, delete or start the service. All of the above operations are performed in the service properties window, which is opened by double-clicking on the service line or by pressing the Enter key.

Quick Tabs and Files in Total Commander

Open the folder in Total Commander that you want to save and have access to fast access, and press the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + D" or click on the star in the upper right corner of the panel. IN Google Chrome this keyboard shortcut adds to bookmarks, and in Total Commander – to the quick access menu. From the context menu, select "Add current directory" .

You can select any of the proposed submenu types. By clicking again on the star or keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + D" you can view a list of your directories that you have quick access to. This menu can also be called up using the mouse - by double-clicking on the name of the current directory.

Total Commander Control Panel

Adding shortcuts to programs, internal commands, as well as any system command to the Total Commander toolbar is quite simple. You must either drag the exe file of the program onto the panel itself or enter the path to the program manually.
First option. Go to the "Program Files" folder and drag the exe file of the program onto the Total Commander panel.

Second option. Right-click on an empty space in the toolbar and then “Edit”. In the window that opens, click “Add” and add the program by specifying the full path to it exe file. I prefer to use the first option.

If, after clicking the “Add” button, you click the small button with a magnifying glass, then you will see a huge list of commands provided in Total Commander.

At the bottom of the window in the box "Filter" , indicate, for example, the command number 2400 (group rename) and click "OK". An additional icon will appear in the toolbar; by clicking on it, you can rename an entire list of files at once.

The Total toolbar is also interesting because other files and folders can interact with the programs pinned here. Drag, for example, the folder containing mp3 files onto the AIMP3 player icon in the toolbar. Your audio files will start playing one after another. Similarly, drag the CSS file onto the icon text editor Notepad++ and the program will open it immediately. Drag"n Drop (take and throw) from file panels to the shortcuts of the folders we created earlier will cause files to be copied to these folders!
If your Total Commander is in startup, then thanks to the installed program launch icons directly from the TS manager toolbar, you will not need to install extra shortcuts on your desktop. If necessary, unnecessary icons can be easily removed from the toolbar in the same way as they are installed: after highlighting the unnecessary icon, click on the “Delete” button and the icon will disappear.
At the bottom of the manager there are function key buttons

These buttons also support Drag"n Drop, so the most convenient way to use them is not by pressing the F3, F4, F5 buttons themselves, but by dragging selected files and folders onto these buttons. Believe me, it’s more convenient this way. And if you right-click on the F8 button, a context menu will open where you can empty the Recycle Bin or view its properties.

The FTP client integrated into Total Commander allows you to connect to your website (blog) without any problems and provides the necessary information. To select a connection, just press the key combination CTRL+F, and if you have not configured a single connection yet, then in the window that opens, simply click on the “Add” button.

The FTP connection settings are not much different from the settings of the FileZilla FTP client, so you already know what to do next.

Connecting network drives in Total Commander

Turn on "Net" in the Total Commander setup menu. Select function .
In the window that appears, select the drive and folder in which you want to store the information. You can specify the path to the site where images and documents will be stored.

Basic operations with folders/files in Total Commander

All actions with folders/files in the file manager are performed extremely simply, literally, by pressing one or two buttons.

Selecting files

Before performing operations on several objects at once, they must first be selected. This can be done by right-clicking on each object or left-clicking, after holding down the Ctrl key.

Renaming files

Place the cursor over the desired file/folder and double-click on the object (but not very quickly!) with the left mouse button, the object will turn blue, and then set a new name.

Deleting files

Select the desired file/folder or select several at once. Then, press F8 - the delete key.

Copy/move files

Select the desired file/folder or several at once in one file manager panel. Then, in another panel, select the folder where you want to copy/move these objects and press the F5 or F6 button accordingly.

Select on any panel the required number of files that will need to be renamed using a specific mask and press the key combination Ctrl+M.

Setting up internal associations is available from the "Files" menu. All files that you open in Total Commander with a double click can be associated i.e. configure their opening by any programs on your computer.

Working with archives
